Why does a mechanical keyboard get stuck?
The price of mechanical keyboards is already very affordable, and more and more players can experience the excellent feel of mechanical keyboards. However, some players have reported experiencing key jamming and smelly shafts after more than a year.
The term 'stinky shaft' here does not necessarily mean that the shaft body emits a foul odor.
We all know that the majority of mechanical keyboards are composed of key shafts, so the common fault of mechanical keyboards is the failure of the shaft body. When a few key shafts fail or feel abnormal, it is considered as a "stinky shaft".
There are many reasons for the stinky shaft, most of which are caused by human factors, such as:
1. Dust/paper scraps entering the mechanical keyboard, causing damage if left uncleaned for a long time (especially for gaming enthusiasts who love smoking)
2. Accidentally spilled takeout/drinks on the mechanical keyboard, commonly known as water ingress
3. Long term use, excessive force, and other physical damages
Simply put, mechanical keyboards are most afraid of water and dust. Compared to water, dust is truly ubiquitous. Am I exaggerating? Just test it and you'll know
